Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar train service will boost tourism

It will take tourism industry to new heights

In order to boost the country’s tourism sector further, the government will unveil a new train route with stations from Dhaka to the city of world’s largest sea beach Cox’s Bazar. Cox’s Bazaar is already an attractive destination for tourism lovers all over the world therefore, this new initiative will add a new feather to its cap. It will not only boost the tourism sector but will also add a new dimension to it.

Government is spending TK 215 crore to build an iconic railway station in the shape of an oyster where all international standard facilities will be available. The railway track will stretch to Ghumdum near Myanmar via Ramu, which will later be extended upto China.


The socio economic condition of the people in that 

region will enhance greatly as the initiative will create 

considerable job opportunities for the local community


Once the project completes, the railways growth will be extended significantly and at the same time it will contribute to the country's advancement. The new modern railway stations on the route will attract both foreign and domestic tourists. However, the government should make sure that the project is completed in the expected time frame. To ensure that, highly skilled manpower from top to bottom will be assigned till the completion of this project.

The authority concerned should constantly  monitor and manage the project works. Bangladesh railways can partner with travel agents, tour operators, and various marketing organizations to make the project a success. Once commissioned, it will take travel experience of the tourists to a whole new level.
