However, the dedicated Awami League leaders who did not get place in the committee have claimed that many of the post holders are intruders.

Earlier, the district unit Awami League president and general secretary approved a 71-member-committee of Fatullah thana unit for the next three years.

The Fatulla thana Awami League committee was formed in 2004 by a party council and the committee was functioning without any council from then with different excuses.

Shawkat Ali respectively re-elected president and general secretary of the committee while nine others got position as vice president.

A former joint secretary of the previous committee B M Shafiullahhas been dropped in this committee. He told the Bangladesh Post,“It’s a fabricated committee where some political opportunists joined Awami League few years ago and not dedicated to the party.”

This committee approval was not held properly as it was not tabled at the district unit executive meeting, he added.

Former vice-president of Fatullathana unit Awami League Abdul MatinSardaralso alleged that there were financial dealings to get post and position in the committee.

A Jubo League leader Saiful Islam Jewel told the Bangladesh Post,“Three of the vice presidents - AshrafulAlam, Mostofa Kamal and Giasuddin were never leaders or activists of Awami League.

Secretary of the newly-formed committee Shawkat Ali said,“I don't know about those three vice presidents and it was done by the president of the committee SaifullahBadal.”

President of the district Awami League Abdul Hai told the Bangladesh Post that the decision of the executive committee may be taken after or before approval of the committee. However, he said there is no other pendingcommittee list.
