CVASU approves Tk 42.48-cr budget

Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) approved the budget of Tk 48.48 crore for the year 2019-2020.

The approval was given in the 43rd session of the Syndicate held on Thursday in the Vice-Chancellor's office. Vice-Chancellor of the university Gautam Buddha Das presided over the meeting.

In the year 2019-2020, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has allocated Tk 39 crore 72 lakh, against the demand of Tk 46 crore 27 lakh for the year. In the budget, the university has earned its own income of Tk 2.76 crore. About 94 percent of the funds received by the university will come from government funding and 6 percent will be available from the domestic sources.

VC of Chittagong University Prof. Shirin Akhtar was present at the 43th session of Syndicate. It was attended, among others, by Nurul Anwar Vice-Chancellor of Port City International University, Professor Md. Mahbubur Rahman of Plant Science Department of Chittagong University, Professor Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury  of Veterinary Pathology Department of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Zilla Parishad Chairman of Chittagong MA Salam, Director General of Livestock Director Dr Hirase Ranjan Bhowmick, Dean of Veterinary Medicine Faculty Professor Abdul Ahad, Dean of Food Science and Technology Faculty Professor Jannatara Khatun, Pathology and Professor of Parasitology Department Dr. Md. Masuduzzaman, Department of Post-Harvest Technology and Dr. M. Nurul Abchar Khan, Director (External activities) Professor Dr. AKM Saifuddin, Director (Research and Extension) Prof. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Member Secretary of the Registrar and Syndicate Mirza Faruk Imam.
