Cumilla farmer dies with coronavirus symptoms

A farmer suffering from cold, cough, fever and respiratory problems died at Chakratala village under Daudkandi upazila in Cumilla on Sunday morning, nine hours after his house was put under lockdown. The deceased was identified as Alek Khan, 55.

Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex Officer Dr Md Shahinur Alam Sujon said that Alek was admitted to the health complex with cold, cough, fever and respiratory problems around five days ago.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kamrul Islam said they put his house under lockdown on Saturday night after noticing coronavirus symptoms.

Civil Surgeon Dr Niatuzzaman said Alek had been suffering from respiratory problems for a long time. His samples have been collected and sent to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) for test.
