Ctg magistrate receives death threat

Chattogram executive magistrate of the district administration, Prateek Dutta, who has led several operations against illegal encroachments, anti-adulteration operations and recent operations against unscrupulous traders in Chattogram, allegedly received death threats on Thursday.

He got the death threat from two unknown number on Thursday morning. However, no one could not be identified in this connection.

Executive Magistrate Prateek Dutta said that he got a call from +572582478 at 8:46 am on Thursday morning.  After receiving the call, the magistrate was verbally abused and threatened with death by slitting his throat. 

Then at 8:48 PM the same person called again from +8801942206031 and started abusing.  As the magistrate did not speak, he ended the call after 19 seconds.

A general diary has been filled in the Kotwali police station of the city in this incident.

He said that recently a raid was conducted in the building of Islami Samaj Kalyan Parishad in Chawkbazar police station area of the city.

 Banners of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir, collection receipts and a large number of anti-government books were seized.  Later it was locked and taken over by the administration.  Due to these reasons, any group of Jamaat can threaten.  

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman said, We are taking legal action for threatening the Executive Magistrate.

Touhidul Islam, Deputy Collector of Nezarat branch of the district administration, said that following the recent eviction drive against unscrupulous traders and illegal occupants, Executive Magistrate Prateek Dutta has been threatened.  On May 30, the Islami Samaj Kalyan Parishad under Jamaat-Shibir was raided in Chittagong.  In the campaign, the government VP evicted the property and brought it under the control of the district administration.  Legal action is being taken against threatening him.
