Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) mayor Freedom Fighter Rezaul Karim Chowdhury has commented that due to the lack of coordination of service organizations, ongoing comprehensive activities for the development of Chattogram are being disrupted.
In an exchange meeting with the leaders of the Chattogram Union of Journalists Union (CUJ) on Thursday, the CCC Mayor said that lack of coordination among the service organizations has become a major obstacle in solving all the problems including waterlogging, mosquito infestation, traffic congestion in Chattogram. As the projects being done by the CDA, including drainage, are not completed quickly, traffic congestion is increasing on the one hand, and mosquitoes are increasing in the accumulated water in the projects. Chattogram WASA is ruining roads by digging everywhere including Hathazari road. On the other hand, after conducting the CCC eviction operation, the recovered land is being occupied again due to the lack of monitoring by the police there. "Recently I traveled to Korea and saw that the mayor of the city is the head of the city government, so there is coordination in the work of the service agencies. As a result, they are able to take home the maximum benefit of the development project. If the City Corporation can be strengthened in this way in Chattogram too, it is possible to reap the maximum benefits of the development projects.”
