Chattogram Abahani must cross hurdles, if the port side wish to improve their rank in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Chattogram Abahani will face Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday at 4pm.

This is the last encounter for both teams in the first leg of the BPL. Chattogram Abahani is in better position than its counterpart Muktijoddha SKC. Blue Pirates remain on the seventh position with 16 points from 11 outings while The Reds now in 11th and collect only nine points from the same number of matches.

It is the home match for The Reds, and away for the port side. Muktijoddha SKC is in poor form in home but Chattogram Abahani’s performance is very nice in away matches. Therefore, it can be said, Blue Pirates is stronger than The Reds, and they have more chance to win the match. Previous records also tell this.

Momentum is really building for Chattogram Abahani as they have now gone five games without losing. They won two and drawn three in their last five encounters. Mutijoddha SKC, on the other hand, won and lost one each, and shared the points with three matches.

Before this game, these two teams met with each other by eight times, the port side won four and Muktijoddha two. Rest of the matches ended with draw. Chattogram Abahani will be confident of scoring today’s match and hope for joy. Chattogram Abahani Coach Maruful Haque predicts his team will show the better performance and try to level best to win the match.

Maruful Haque said, “Today is the last match in BPL first leg. We want to finish with joy in the first leg. Then we will get sometimes, by this time, we should find out our wrong side and must be corrected.  We must try to better perform in the second leg. I hope the team will improve a lot.”

“Any team can win the match, those get the opportunity and use properly, they can cash full three points,” he added. Muktijoddha SKC wants to develop their position in the 13-team points table. They are now in the danger level. Coach Raja Isa knows very well that his team should have to win, and no alternative way. “We are really now is in crisis and need more oxygen to save the team. Only victory can save the team,” said Raja.
