Criminal killed in N’ganj ‘gunfight’

A listed criminal was killed in a gunfight between the criminal’s accomplices and law enforcers at Sayedpur area of Narayanganj on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Tuhin alias Chapati Tuhin, 24, son of Kawsar Ahmed of Deobhog Shantinagar area of Fatulla. He was second-in-command of slain criminal Hasan. He was wanted in four criminal cases including murder, RAB-11 sources claimed.

Assistant police super of RAB-11 Moshiur Rahman said that earlier Tuhin was arrested from Debidwar upazila of Cumilla district. According to  Tuhin’s statement, RAB conducted drive at Syedpur area to recover fire arms and ammunition. When the RAB members reached Syedpur with Tuhin, his cohorts being hideout opened fire aiming RAB to snatch him from RAB custody. RAB members retaliate with shooting and then found a man lay on earth. RAB recovered him and sent to Narayanganj generel hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead.

RAB also recovered a foreign pistol, a magazine and three round bullets from the spot.
