Construiton work of the building of Institute of Islamic Education and Research (IIER) of Islamic University began on Saturday.
IU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated the construction work through laying foundation stone.
Pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and treasure Prof Dr M Selim Toha were present at the time, among others. IIER director Prof Dr M Maher Ali conducted the inaugural ceremony.
Among others, Prof Dr M Mahbubar Rahman of EEE department, IU registrar in charge SM Abdul Latif, IU chief Engineer (acting ) M Alimuzzaman Tutul and among others teachers and officers were present there.
Later, Maher Ali handed a map of the new building over the university authority.
