Coast Guard seizes Indian saree in Mongla

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard seized huge quantity of Indian sarees worth over Tk 26 crore from Nondabala canal area under Mongla Police Station in Bagerhat on Sunday, says a press realease. 

On information, a team of Coast Guard carried out a raid a ship's bulkhead, name MV Maria at Nondabala canal area. At that time smuggler fled away and left behind large quantity of illegal Indian sarees and clothes. 

Later, the Coast Guard members seized 24495 pieces Indian Sarees,31 pieces Lehenga, 119 pieces of Frok and 79 pieces Palazzo. The seized smuggled goods were later deposited to Mongla Police station. The press release of the Coast Guard said that they are active in preventing smuggling goods.
