Charge sheet filed against 29 people

The Criminal Investigation Department has submitted a charge sheet to the court accusing twenty nine people over the Talla mosque fire incident that claimed thirty four lives on September 4, 2020 under Fatullah police station in the district.

In the charge sheet CID investigator inspector Babul Hossain included 26 members of mosque management committee and three low profile staff of DPDC, excluded eight Titash gas officials who were earlier arrested and got bail from the court.

On September 4, 2020, at around 9 P.M., after Esha prayer all on sudden caught fire inside the Talla Baytus-Salat mosque under Fatullah police sation and all 38 payees burn to injure and of them 34 lost their lives battling single day to few days at Sheikh Hasina burn unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

According to the court inspector Asaduzzaman the case investigator had submitted a charge sheet on December 31 and it will be produced before the court on January 3, 2021. The investigation officer prayed to discharge 8 Titash gash officials on plea of having no receive sanction from the government about the arrested Titash gas officials, adding that he stated if found sanction from the government then a supplementary charge sheet will be given including the Titash gas officials as found negligence of them during investigation.

The CID police submitted the charge sheet under section 304(A) meaning that all have been ignored proper duties and that have caused fire and 34 succumbed to burn injuries.

The case investigator inspector Babul Hossain of Narayanganj CID told Bangladesh Post, I have mentioned in  charge sheet the guilt of 8 Titash gas officials have been proved but I was incapable to include them in charge sheet.
