CCC succeeds in removing sacrificial animal waste: Mayor Rezaul

Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury thanked the people of the city for the success achieved in maintaining a healthy environment by removing all kinds of garbage including sacrificial animal waste.

He said that from the past experience, the civil society has duly complied with the instructions given in accordance with the CCC's ability to remove animal waste in the shortest possible time on Eid-ul-Adha. It is possible to maintain a health and environment friendly city by freeing Chittagong from waste in the afternoon of sacrifice as the policies and procedures adopted and implemented in slaughtering sacrificial animals during Corona period and subsequent removal of waste have been followed as a continuation of past success.

He said, "Respecting the sentiments of religious sentiments, the city dwellers must have responded to the lockdown provided by the government on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha this time and this is the strength of relieving all crises in the future,"

CCC Mayor said city dwellers were asked to report to the CCC control room to report any deviations or delays in waste removal, but no such allegations were found at the end of the work. So CCC was active in fulfilling its responsibilities.

Referring to the service statistics of the Clean and Mechanical Department of Chittagong City Corporation, he said that on the day of Eid-ul-Azha, 4.5 thousand workers were engaged in waste disposal and about 7000 tons of waste was transported through 317 vehicles. The lifting is done and dumped at two tensing grounds.

Chattogram City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Shahidul Alam, Panel Mayor Md. Gias Uddin, Waste Standing Committee Chairman Md. Mubarak Ali, Ward Councilor Shaibal Das Sumon, Hasan Murad Biplob, Abdul Barek, Esrarul Haque, CCC Secretary Khaled Mahmud, Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Manik, Mayor's Private Secretary Muhammad Abul Hashem, Chief Cleaning Officer Safiqul Mannan Siddiqui Yeshu, Supervising Engineer Sudip Basak, Jhulan Kumar Das, Executive Engineer Mirza Fazlul Quader, Deputy Chief Cleaning Officer Morshedul Alam Chowdhury, Pranab Sharma were present during the inspection.
