Astreet rally and discussion programmewereorganised on Tuesday at the initiative of National FF Foundation, a welfare organisation of the freedom fighters, demanding December 1 be announced as the Freedom Fighters' Day.
Dr. SM Jahangir Alam spoke as the President and Chief Guest of the event. He said, “In order to present the true history of the Liberation War and the sacrifice of the freedom fighters to the next generation, I would like to draw the kind attention of the Prime Minister to officially declare December 1 as Freedom Fighter's Day”.
Among others Freedom Fighter Anwar Hossain Bhuiyan, Senior Vice Chairman of the Foundation and Ruhul Amin Majumder, Founding General Secretary of the organization and others spoke at the time. At the end of the programme, all freedom fighters and the young generation were urged to unite to implement the spirit of the liberation war and to stand by the people in the development of the state.
Meanwhile, FF Foundation congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on being nominated as the Vice-Chairman of World Health Organization at the time. All present at the programne expressed their firm conviction to accelerate the developmental activities of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina.
