BYJU'S, an Indian education and learning app, have signed on as the new sponsor of the Indian cricket team, the BCCI announced on Thursday, July 25, Cricbuzz confirms.

BYJU'S will take over all obligations from Oppo, the current sponsor, who had committed to a five-year deal in March 2017, but now find the rights value to be "extremely high" and "unsustainable", as reported in the Times of India."BCCI and BYJU'S share a common vision and together we will take Indian Cricket forward," BCCI CEO Rahul Johri said of the new association which will last from 5th September, 2019 to 31st March, 2022

"We are proud to be the Indian Cricket Team sponsor. Cricket is the heartbeat of all Indians and we are thrilled to be an integral part of our much loved team. As a learning company, BYJU'S has always recognised the critical role that sport plays in a child's development.

Just as cricket inspires a billion budding dreams across India, we too as a learning company hope to inspire the love of learning in every child's heart,"Byju Raveendran, Founder & CEO of BYJU'S, said.BYJU'S will first be seen on the Indian team jersey during the home series against South Africa later this year.
