BUFT post-budget talk on economic scenario held

Department of Business Administration of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) organised a post-budget discussion on “Bangladesh Economic Scenario with Reference to Budget FY20 and RMG Sector” recently at its permanent campus in Dhaka. 

Professor Mustafizur Rahman, distinguished fellow of the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) was the principal speaker at the discussion session, said a press release. 

Muzaffar U. Siddique, founder chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT was the chief guest of the programme while Prof. Eng. Dr. Ayub Nabi khan, vice chancellor (acting), BUFT, Prof. Dr. A H M Habibur Rahman, dean, School of Business, Prime Asia University and Md. Moshiul Azam (Shajal), member, Board of Trustees, BUFT were present as special guests of the programme. 

Distinguished Professor Md. Muinuddin Khan, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, BUFT presided over the programme.

Dr. Mustafizur Rahman discussed various aspects of the national budget for FY20, especially allocation for ever-growing education sector, sustainable growth for rmg sector, poverty alleviation, gdp growth rate, inflation, implementation of the development programmes and SDGs. 

The session also discussed about the major financial issues such as new Value Added Tax (VAT) system, bank interest rate, monetary policy and entrepreneurship incentive and performance evaluation of the last year’s budget. 

Treasurer, deans of all faculties, registrar, heads of different departments, faculty members and students of different departments of the university attended.

A crest of appreciation was presented to Prof. Mustafizur Rahman by Muzaffar U. Siddique, founder chairman, BOT, BUFT. Distinguished Professor Md. Muinuddin Khan, Dean, FBS, BUFT delivered vote of thanks.
