Agriculture minister Abdur Razzaque expressed satisfaction over the just announced national budget for FY23-24, saying this will benefit the poor, promote agriculture and improve rural livelihoods.

He called the budget as among the best, as it aimed to establish a smart and modern Bangladesh.

He said this during the inauguration of a free medical camp at Rani Bhavani School ground of Madhupur upazila in Tangail.

Razzaque asserted that the country was progressing rapidly on the path of development and that this budget would further accelerate this progress.

The minister emphasised the importance of enhancing crop production, introducing new varieties, providing subsidised machinery and continuing subsidies.

He emphasised that this budget was not extravagant or based on fantasies but rather grounded in reality. He expressed confidence in successfully implementing the budget, drawing from past achievements.

The event at the Rani Bhavani School ground was organised by the Madhupur upazila Awami League and Uttara Modern Medical College Hospital, with the support of the agriculture minister.

Regarding the recent US visa policy, Razzaque said that the Awami League remained unfazed, emphasising that no sanctions could impede the country’s development or disrupt its democracy.

He said that Bangladesh possesses the capability to overcome any type of sanction.

Razzaque praised prime minister Sheikh Hasina for extending medical services to people’s doorsteps, including the underprivileged rural population.
