Brac University organized an orientation program for the Spring 2020 semester at the residential campus at Savar on Friday.

The event started with paying tribute to the founder of Brac University Sir Fazle Hasan Abed KCMG who passed away on 20 December, 2019.  An overview of Brac University (BracU) with new campus was screened as well.

BracU Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang started his speech to the freshmen by remembering late Sir Fazle Hasan Abed KCMG. Sir Abed was a giant of humanity and we are fortunate that we are part of this legacy. We are grateful to Sir Abed for establishing Brac University.

Professor Chang welcomed the freshmen to ‘Brac University 2.0’. Brac University 2.0 is an aspiration and a commitment to emerge on the global map as the proud international institution from Bangladesh.  Brac University is now holding its general education benchmark against Harvard and Yale. The ultimate goal is to become Bangladesh’s very first of its kind student centric university. So that, 20 to 30 years from now, students will reflect back on their Brac University 2.0 experience for their achievements in life.

BracU Alumnus Sayeda Nabila Mahabub, currently working as marketing head in ride sharing app Pathao Ltd also spoke at the event.
