Two bodies were recovered from the 4th floor of a house at Bastopotti area of Tongi on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Halim, 40, and his son Noman, 8, of the area.
Tongi East Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mejbahuddin Ahmed said “The incident took place on Tuesday night. We recovered father’s body from Baranda in hanging position while son’s body from floor”.
Quoting family members, the SI said Halim killed his son Noman. Then he hanged himself following family dispute”.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tongi East Police Station Kamal Hossain said no one was arrested in this connection.
The bodies were sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital, the OC said.
