BNP-Jamaat hatching conspiracy to create violence: Hasan

Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said BNP-Jamaat alliance is hatching conspiracy to create violence across the country.

"Everyone must build resistance against them (BNP-Jamaat)," he told a candlelight programme organised by Jubo Mohila League marking the International Women's Day in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban in city's Dhanmondi-32 on Wednesday night.

The minister said, "I would like to urge all including mothers and sisters to remain alert against BNP and Jamaat as they have plotted conspiracies for creating violence across the country. We should have to build resistance against them."

He urged the women to move forward to materialize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Hasan said the leaders and activists of BNP-Jammat had carried out attacks on Ahmadiyya community at Panchagarh. But, a team led by BNP will visit the place tomorrow to express their sympathy after attacking on them, he added.

In fact, he said, the incident was occurred to create anarchy in the country. They don't want development of the country and for this, they are trying to create chaos, he added.

He said different sorts of accidents have taken place across the country for the last few days. Investigations are going on whether those accidents are sabotage or not and the government is determined to take strict action against whoever is responsible to this end, said Hasan.

He said the women of the country have won Everest and they are showing the paths. The women's society of Bangladesh has prospered surprising the globe under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said the ruling party leader.

According to the global index, he said, women of Bangladesh are fifth in the world in terms of political empowerment, second in the Asia-Oceania region and first in the subcontinent. It has been possible only for the dynamic leadership of the premier, he added.

He said the premier of the country is a woman while the opposition leader is a woman. Even, speaker and deputy leader of the House, and the education minister are also women, he added.

Hasan said women are in armed forces while justices of Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and High Court are also women. It has been possible due to women friendly policies and different programmes of the Prime Minister, he added.

Jubo Mohila League President Daizy Sarwar chaired the function while its general secretary Sharmin Sultana Lili conducted the event.
