The national flood calamities, particularly in Sylhet-Sunamganj, are improving but not the sufferings of the victims. Extreme food, clean water and health care crises instigate their suffering, especially in remote areas.

To stand by as their support, Dhaka University Chatro Poribohon Porishod (DUCPP), Bloodman and Bangladesh Medical Student Society (BMSS), supported by the Turkish Corporation and Coordination Agency, reached Sachna village of Jamalganj Upazila of Sunamganj with relief and health services on Friday, June 24, 2022.

Packages of relief supplies containing ten kinds of products, including candles, flattened rice, biscuits, bread and other food items, were distributed to 400 families. Along with this, health services and medications were provided by physicians to 70 patients through health camps in Sachna Bazar.

DU transport department provided a bus and Tour Group BD with a boat for the volunteers.

Atiqul Islam, President of Khanika Bus service of DU, said, “Students of DU have always come forward in the crisis period of the country. This time is no exception.”

Mehedi Hasan, the co-founder of Bloodman, said, “We were in agony to see the devastation the flood caused to the Sylhet region. The victims need more of our support so they can return to their lives and overcome their suffering.”
