Simanta Paribar Kallyan Samity (SPKS), a welfare organisation of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), distributed blankets among 350 cold-hit destitute people in Chapanawabganj on Friday, reports BSS.
Vice-president of Rajshahi sub-branch sector of the organisation Nur-e- Sultana distributed the blankets as the chief guest at a simple function organised by BGB-53 battalion.
The function was attended, among others, by SPKS general secretary Samanu Mahbub and the officials of BGB-53 and 59 battalions.
Commanding Officer (CO) of BGB-53 Lieutenant Colonnel Md Mahbubur Rahman Khan said SPKS is working to uplift the livelihood of women and make them self-reliant by imparting vocational and technical training.
