Bangladesh National Team’s Committee (NTC) of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) decided to organize a tri-nation football tournament at the FIFA window in March.
The NTC of the BFF in a meeting on Monday decided to host the tournament from March 20-28 at the Sylhet Stadium. The tri-national tournament will take place with the participation of Brunei Darussalam, the Republic of Seychelles and the host Bangladesh.
Chairman of the NTC and the vice-president of the BFF, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, at the presence of the BFF president Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin, took the decision to organize the tri-nation tournament after the break of first phase and before to start the second phase of the Bangladesh Premier League.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh national football team played their last international match in September 2022.
BFF have been trying to play FIFA friendly matches for last few days and finally decided to organize the international Tri-nation tournament.
The NTC chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed, said, “As we have been trying to play FIFA friendly matches, we decided to organize the tournament to play at the FIFA window, as the matches will counted as FIFA matches.”
“We will organize the tournament at the Sylhet Stadium and have already applied for the approval of FIFA. Our team’s camp will take place in Dhaka and outside Dhaka and expecting to start the camp by two to three days from March 3 after completing the first phase of the Bangladesh Premier League.” Nabil informed.
Apart from the head coach of Javier Fernandez Cabrera, by this time we will also select our coaching staff.
Under the Spanish coach Cabrera, Bangladesh national team played eight matches when they could win only one match against Cambodia when drew two against Mongolia and Indonesia and suffered five defats against Bahrain, Maldives, Turkmenistan, Malaysia and Nepal.
