BCC starts operation of inventory module of GRP

Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the Information and Communications Technology Division on Tuesday inaugurated and started formal use of an inventory module under a project titled ‘e-Government ERP’ (GRP). Executive Director of BCC Parthapratim Deb was present at the inauguration ceremony held at the BCC’s conference room on Tuesday.

Parthapratim Deb said, “If anyone uses this module, there will be no need to maintain the manual stock register. This software will provide information regarding whether any product will be needed and how much amount of product remains in the store. This software will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization.”    

The Bangladesh e-Government ERP Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under ICT Division involving the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of BUET and a consortium of local software companies have designed and developed 4 out of 9 modules of this GRP.

The four modules include — meeting management, Inventory, Asset Management, and Procurement.  Project director Ashoke Kumar Roy said, “Using this module, it will make the organization more efficient than ever before, reducing the risk of human error by automating all tasks, it will increase productivity, increasing procedural transparency, and provide an easy view of everything through a dashboard”.

Earlier on January 28 last, an ADP meeting was conducting using Event and Meeting module of the e-Government ERP Project. Using the module, government organisations can conduct their respective meeting automatically. This module will provide all prior information related to respective meeting. 

ICT Lab Managing Director Ehshanul Parvez, BCC Secretary Rashedul Hasan, BCC Director Enamul Haque were also present, CEO of software developer institution Cokreates Mustafizur Rahman among others, at the inauguration ceremony.
