Barisal Shilpakala Academy honours 15 artistes

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is organizing various cultural works in the hope of building a creative humanitarian Bangladesh. Since the beginning of 2013, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has been honoring five veteran artists of every district every year.

In this continuation, on May 5, the district Shilpakala Academy, Barisal has organized District Shilpakala Academy Award for the year 2016-2018 at Ashwani Kumar Town Hall. Honors will be given to 15 artistes for 3 years from 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Barisal Divisional Commissioner Ramchandra Das was present as the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner S M Ajior Rahman of the city had presided over the function. District cultural officer Md Hasanur Rashid presented the welcome speech. 

Cultural personality Syed Dulal, former Press Club President SM Iqbal, Barisal Cultural Organization Coordination Council President Kajol Ghosh and members of cultural background were also present. 

The recipients are Sudhir Thakur (Jatrashilpa), Abdur Rashid Khan (Lokoshangskriti), Mizan Khasru (Natyakala), Dilip Natta (Jantra Sangeet), Santosh Kumar Karmakar (Kantho Sangeet) in 2016. Lutf-e-Alam (Nritya Kala), Mia Abdul Mannan (Natya Kala), Alaya Begum Alo (Jatrashilpa), Lalit Kumar Das (Jantra Sangeet), Vishwanath Das Munshi (Kantho Sangeet), and Mukul Kumar Das (Kantho Sangeet) in 2018; M.A. Hadi (Jatrashilpa), Md. Shahnewaz (Natya Kala), Jagannath Dey (Charu Kala), Arvind Kumar Nag (Jantra Sangeet).
