Barbie director teases more wild Ken Looks of Ryan

Barbie director Greta Gerwig teases Ryan Gosling's Ken will have more wild looks than already seen, saying there are "a lot" of costumes.

While audiences eagerly await more looks at the film as a whole, Barbie director Greta Gerwig teases a more lore wild looks to come for Ryan Gosling's Ken. Gerwig is also co-writing the film with personal and creative partner Noah Baumbach, though plot details for the two's take on the film adaptation of the iconic Mattel doll line remains unknown. Gosling is just one of the large ensemble roster of stars in the Barbie movie alongside Margot Robbie in the titular role, America Ferrera, Simu Liu as reportedly another Ken, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae reportedly as another Barbie, Michael Cera, Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell as the CEO of Mattel and Ncuti Gatwa as reportedly another Ken.

In a recent interview with Variety at the Academy's Governors Awards, Greta Gerwig was asked about what's to come from the highly anticipated Barbie movie. The co-writer/director teased that audiences were "not even close" to seeing the extent of outfits Gosling's Ken will wear in the film, saying that the sole released photo of the actor in character is just "one of many extraordinary looks." I really, I couldn’t say [how many there are], but it’s a lot — it’s a lot, it’s a lot.

Though only two official photos have been released for the film throughout its production, a number of set photos have emerged from the Barbie movie offering other looks at both Robbie and Gosling as their iconic characters brought to live-action for the first time. The most circulated images online have shown Robbie and Gosling's Barbie and Ken in neon-colored jogger outfits, while a set video also teased the latter having a high-pitched scream as he and his counterpart encounter a groper out in public. Though they have garnered a lot of positive feedback from those interested in the film, Robbie herself has expressed feeling mortified by the Barbie movie set photos, saying she and her co-stars felt "humiliated" by being seen in public in their outrageous outfits ahead of time.
