A journalist of Bangladesh Post, Ariful Islam, was injured in an attack by the snatchers at Mouchak in the capital on Sunday night.
He came under the attack while waiting for the bus to go to Kalyanpur after visiting his younger sister's house at Pabna Colony. While waiting for the bus in front of Mouchak Police Box, three people suddenly snatched his mobile phone set and tried to escape on a battery-run rickshaw.
But he chased them and tried to stop them from fleeing the spot. At that them, one of the snatchers got down from the rickshaw and took away his mobile phone. Finally, with help of local people, two of them were caught red handed.
During the chase, the snatchers pushed him. As a result, he fell down on the street and got injuries in his hands, legs, and other parts of the body. He was given first aid at Dhaka Medical College. Later, snatchers were handed over to the police.
