Banglabandha land port at Tetulia upazila inPanchagarh will be closed for six consecutive days from Thursday to next Tuesday on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha.

Import and export will resume from Wednesday (August 5) at this quadrilateral land port. This information was given in a press release on behalf of Panchagarh Banglabandha Land Port Importers and Exporters Association.

According  to land port sources, a limited number of products including stones are being imported from India through this port in compliance with hygiene norms amid the corona crisis.

The decision was taken in a joint opinion of North Bengal Exporters Association of West Bengal, Banglabandha Land Port Limited, leaseholder ATI Limited, C&F Agents Association, Importers and Exporters Association and labor organizations.

Mehedi Hasan Khan Babla, president of Panchagarh Banglabandha Land Port Import-Export Association, said the role of a land port in the country's economy is significant.

For this reason, even in the corona crisis, the activities of this land port are being carried out to a limited extent in compliance with the hygiene rules. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, it was decided to close Banglabandha land port for six days from Thursday based on the opinion of businessmen and other stakeholders.
