The 92nd birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was celebrated today in the district with due respect and befitting manner.
On the occasion of birth anniversary, a total of 65 sewing machines were given to destitute women and cash Taka 2000 each to 30 destitute women in the district. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Biswas Russell Hossain handed over the sewing machine and cash Taka to the beneficiaries. The district administration organized a discussion in observance of the 92nd birth anniversary of Bangamata at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.

Superintendent of Police Mohibul Islam Khan, Civil Surgeon Dr Monisar Chowdhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner Afroza Akhtar, President of the Press Council Abdul Matin Khan, Freedom Fighter ASM Abdur Rahim Pakon, District Food Control Officer Tanvir Rahman, Senior Information Officer Samiul Islam, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Beside, the district Awami League, organised a discussion and doa mahfil, held at the district Awami League party office this morning. The leaders and activists of District Awami League, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Jubo League, Krishak League, Mahila Awami League, Sramik League, Jubo Mahila League were participated in the function with District Awami League President Rezaul Rahim Lal in the chair.
