‘Bangabandhu fought against communalism throughout his life’

Prime Minister’s Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam on Wednesday said as a symbol of non-communalism, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman fought against communalism throughout his life, reports BSS.

“Bangabandhu fought against communalism throughout his life. His stance was always against the religious hatred,” he said.

He stated these while addressing the first national level seminar titled “Leadership and good governance Bangabandhu’s thoughts” online marking Bangabandhu’s birth centenary, said a press release.

Noting that Bangabandhu was a symbol of non-communalism, HT Imam said Bangabandhu did politics for welfare the country and its people. “We also have to work for development of the country being inspired by his ideals,” he added.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said Bangabandhu was the leader of mass people with very high human qualities. Bangabandhu always gave priority to the demands of the commoners, he added.

With Public Administration Secretary Shaikh Yusuf Harun in the chair, it was addressed, among others, by former secretary of the ministry Md Nazrul Islam Khan and noted journalist and columnist Abed Khan.

Additional Public Administration Secretary Dr Md Humayun Kabir presented the keynote paper.
