Bangabandhu corner opens at Shilpakala Academy

Bangabandhu corner, comprising with the books written on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was opened Friday at Bangladesh Shilpkala Academy library, reports BSS. More than 300 books, written by different writers and researchers on Bangabandhu, have been collected in this corner. Academy head and noted dramatist Liakat Ali Luky inaugurated the corner and said “Father of the Nation Bangabandhu used to live on a very simple life …his life has been passed with the common people and he declared the independence after uniting the grass-roots people through different struggle and movements for 24 years.”

Calling the students to read on Bangabandhu’s life and his history of struggle, the Shilpakala Academy chief said “it is in doubt whether we could achieve the freedom if Bangabandhu was not born.” So far, he said we have collected a list of 1200 books on Bangabandhu written by different writers , adding that the corner has opened with more 300 books and all the 1200 books will also to be collected by the academy.

The corner was opened at the Shilpakala Academy as part of the programmes organized by the academy to marking 100th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman. The programme was attended among others, by officials, employees of the academy and more than 200 students from different city schools and colleges. Later, the students were participated in the cultural functions.
