Awareness meeting on antibiotic abuse held in Nabinagar

A view-exchange meeting on ‘World Antibiotic Awareness Week’ was held at the Upazila Health Complex Hall Room with private clinics and pharmacists to prevent antibiotic abuse at Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria on Wednesday.

District Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Shah Alam was the chief guest at the meeting.

Various issues were discussed in the meeting, like ongoing status of private clinics / hospitals activities, extended normal delivery to all private hospitals, waste management, ensuring attendance of nurses, ensuring quality of services and open access to services and counseling with patients, hiring physicians and diploma nurses for 24 hours services, setting up normal delivery rooms and breast feeding corners, renewing licenses of private clinics, opening one pharmacy every night, selling antibiotics without doctor's prescription, following private rules in  private clinics.

Health and public officer of Upazila Health Complex, Dr Habibur Rahman presided over the meeting.

Mayor of Nabinagar Municipal Advocate Shiv Shankar Das was present as the special guest. At that time, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Masum, Dr. Ahmed Hossain, Vice Chairman Zakir Hossain Sadek, President of Nabinagar Press Club Mahbub Alam Liton, AL League leader Nasir Uddin were also present.
