Auction recommended for vehicles lying at Ctg port

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Shipping has recommended speedy auction of various brands of vehicles seized by the Customs at Chittagong Port.

 The recommendation was made at a meeting held at the Sangsad Bhaban on Thursday under the chairmanship of Major (Retd) Rafiqul Islam.

 It is learned that the meeting discussed the current activities, problems and solutions of the port including the financial cost and practical progress of the development project undertaken by the Chittagong Port Authority from July 2016 to June 2020.  At this time, it has been recommended to take measures to auction the auctioned vehicles lying inside the Chittagong port.  Besides, the members of the committee expressed satisfaction over the overall activities of Chittagong port.

Shipping Minister Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Ranjit Kumar Roy, Mahfuzur Rahman, Dr Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul, Md Aslam Hossain Saudagar and SM Shahzada, members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Shipping, attended the meeting. 

Ministry of Shipping Secretary Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury, Chairman of Mongla Port Authority Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, Chairman of Chittagong Port Authority Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, concerned officials Ministry of Shipping, Parliament Secretariat were present in the meeting.
