Army patrolling starts in Rajshahi, streets deserted

Streets and roads of Rajshahi city look deserted following the start of patrolling of the members of the armed forces in the city from Thursday morning. 

It is learnt, members of Armed forces start patrolling through the city streets to check mass gathering of people. At the same time, armed forces members were also announcing through microphones throughout the city to create consciousness among people to ensure social distance, wearing musks and using of sanitizer. Along with the army, police forces are also patrolling the city streets. 

Meanwhile, the presence of people in the city streets was extremely thin. Even, the busy zero-point of Shaheb Bazaar, Newmarket, Seroil Bus stand, railway station premises, Shahid Kamaruzaman square, Bornali crossing, Luxmipur crossings and Rajshahi court areas look deserted. None of the motor-vehicles excepting a few motorbikes and battery-operated auto wheelers were seen to move through the streets.

All shops and markets of the city excepting drug stores, grocery shops and green grocers shops, remained closed. RCC authorities were spreading germicides in various city streets.

Hamdiul Haque, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi, informed Rajshahi city looks empty from Wednesday. City people seem to follow the advice from the local administration, army, police and city corporation to remain inside the houses and not to come out except for emergencies. he hoped, people would become further conscious and will resist Corona virus unitedly.
