The Department of Health says that 67 percent of the total deaths in the country are caused by various non-communicable diseases including cancer, heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.  According to doctors, the incidence of cancer is increasing due to lack of public awareness.

The 4 important components of cancer control are primary prevention, early detection of cancer through regular screening, curative and palliative care or palliative care.  Therefore, there is a need to increase public awareness about cancer.  It is important to be aware of what kind of disease it is, what causes the risk, and what can be done to prevent it.
