‘Anti-liberation forces continuously trying to question the independence’

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said, those, the anti-liberation force, who did not want the independence of the country in 1971 are now more organized. They are constantly trying to embarrass the present government and question our great freedom. The minister said these words in response to a question to the journalists at the Mujibnagar Day programme at the historical Mujibnagar Day in Meherpur on Monday morning. 

The minister said that Sheikh Hasina's government has suppressed these evil anti-liberation forces. However, they are often conspiring to endanger the normal position of the country due to the instigation of domestic and foreign countries. Therefore, the government, the law enforcement forces, the heroic freedom fighters and the opposing forces in the liberation war must be alert.

In response to another question from the journalists, the minister said that the list of brave freedom fighters has been verified and published on the website. Now the list of names of Rajakars will be prepared. An amendment to the law has opened the way to do that.

On the occasion of Mujibnagar Day, Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and Meherpur District Administration laid wreaths at Mujibnagar Memorial at around 9:30 am as chief guests. After that, the minister hoisted the national flag in front of Sheikh Hasina stage. Meanwhile, the Minister of Liberation War Affairs also received the guard of honor from members of Police, BGB, Ansar. Brave Freedom Fighters, Girl's Guide, BNCC paraded on the occasion.

Bangladesh Anchar Bahini Orchestra's ballad Jal, Mati and Man is performed at this place. Where as the history of Bangladesh's independence war and successively the way Bangladesh has stood tall in the world under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the artists of Ansar orchestra team have highlighted through music.

Meherpur District Commissioner Mohammad Azizul Islam presided over the event. Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs Khawaja Miah, the guard of honor receiver of the first government of Bangladesh on April 17, 1971, Abdul Hannan, Meherpur Police Superintendent Rafiul Alam and other officials of various departments of the administration were the special guests.

In the second phase at 11 o'clock at the same place, Awami League Presidium member Kazi Jafor Ullah was the chief guest at the Mujibnagar Day discussion meeting on the occasion of Bangladesh Awami League.

Incidentally, on April 17, 1971, the first government or provisional government of Bangladesh was sworn in at Baidyanathtala in Meherpur or Mujibnagar Arkanan. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the President. Bangladesh gained independence under the leadership of Mujibnagar government. Through which Mujibnagar will remain forever in the history of independence. Every year on April 17, Mujibnagar Day is celebrated in this location of Mujibnagar through various events.
