AmCham talks FDI priorities for Bangladesh

The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) on Sunday discussed the FDI priorities for the country with a focus on value added agriculture processing.

The AmCham is focused on cross-border trade and investment facilitation and initiatives for a conducive business environment in Bangladesh.

The event titled “FDI in priority sectors Value Added Agriculture Processing , Digital Ecosystems and Green Capital” was arranged with sector specialists from both public and private sectors.

The discussion mainly focused on identifying opportunities for investments in Bangladesh specifically in Value Added Agriculture Processing, Digital Ecosystems and Green Capital.

There was an active dialogue on what would enable greater inflows of FDI in these areas including working in partnership with domestic investors and government agencies, AmCham said.

Salman Fazlur Rahman, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Sector Industry and Investment, attended the discussion as the chief guest.

Md. Sirazul Islam, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), and JoAnne Wagner, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), the United States Embassy in Dhaka, also spoke at the event chaired by the AmCham President Syed Ershad Ahmed.
