A total of 1,649 'associations' or 'societies' (samities) have been formed under ' Amar Bari, Amar Khamar' (My house-My farm) project in Naogaon district so far. The total number of members of the associations are 67, 67 5.
The total amount of savings of the associations is Taka 221.212 million (Taka 22 crore 12 lakh 12 thousand). With the savings of the association members, the government has also donated Taka 542. 1219 million (Taka 54 crore 21 lakh 19 thousand) totalling the deposit of the association at Taka 772.833 million( Taka 77 crore 28 lakh 33 thousand).
Pallab Kumar Sarker, Co-ordinator of Amar bari-Amar Khamar project of Naogaon informed, the uoazilawise break up of number of associations, members and deposit money is as follow: 151 associations in Naogaon sadar with 5,507 members totalling Taka seven crore 12 lakh and 17 thousand, 175 associations in Mohadevpur upazila with 9,577 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka nine crore 37 lakh 32 thousand, 156 associations in Badalgachhi upazila with 4,436 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka five crore 58 lakh three thousand, 157 associations in Patnitola upazila with 6,693 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka seven crore 55 lakh 45 thousand, 139 associations in Dhamoirhat upazila with 5,673 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka seven crore 02 lakh 56 thousand,
141 associations in Niamatpur upazila with 6, 515 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka six crore 73 lakh 76 thousand, 258 associations in Manda upazila with 11,298 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka 12 crore 32 lakh 74 thousand, 136 associations in Atrai upazila with 4,707 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka six crore 21 thousand, 138 associations in Raninagar upazila with 4,168 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka four crore 75 lakh 76 thousand, 99 associations in Porsha upazila with 4,137 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka five crore 74 lakh 25 thousand and 99 associations in Badalgachhi upazila with 4,764 members totalling the amount of savings is Taka five crore 74 lakh 25 thousand.
Harun-ur-Rashid, Deputy Commissioner of Naogaon informed, among the special projects initiated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, 'Amar Bari-Amar Prokolpo' project is very time-befitting and important one. The project is playing a significant role for development of socio-economic condition of some 70,000 families.
