‘Allahor Dal’ man arrested in Gaibandha

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) arrested a presumed top leader of banned militant organisation ‘Allahor Dal’ from Puraton Jailmor area in Gaibandha district town in the early hours on Friday, reports BSS. 

“On a tip off, a special team of RAB-13 conducted a raid there and arrested Md Azmat Ansari, Gaibandha district Nayek of ‘Allahor Dal’, from his shop,” said a press release issued here by Media Officer of RAB-13 Major Galib Muhammad Natikur Rahman today.

The elite forces also recovered ‘Jihadi’ books and leaflets from his possession.

During interrogation, the arrested admitted that he had been engaged in conducting publicity secretly for the banned militant organisation since 2001.

He was arrested in 2006 for militancy. After his release from the jail, he started arranging secret meetings at his eclectic shop with members of the organisation.

“After filing a case against the arrested extremist, the elite force handed him over to Gaibandha Sadar Thana today,” Major Galib added.
