Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd has observed the National Mourning Day and the 44th Death Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at its head office in Dhaka on Thursday.
Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Farman R Chowdhury presided over the ceremony. Prominent scholar, professor of Bangabandhu Chair and former director general of Bangla Academy Prof. Dr. Syed Anwar Husain discussed ‘Bangabandhu and Islam’ as key speaker on the occasion, said a press release.
Professor of Political Science Department, University of Dhaka Prof. Dr. Shawkat Ara Husain also discussed about the topic.
Among others, Deputy Managing Directors Md. Fazlul Karim, Shabbir Ahmed and other executives were also present in the occasion. The Bank arranged Khat-me Quran, Discussion Meeting and Dua Mahfil during the day-long program. Officials of the Bank wore Black Badges during the event to show their respect to the demised Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
