ACC to go tougher on environment polluters

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has taken a special initiative to thwart corruption in connection with evnironmenal management issues, reports BSS.
In order to prevent environmental pollution, especially pollution from vehicles plying in all metropolitan areas, the commission will look into all types of corruptions and irregularities of the concerned government and non-government bodies and take effective action.

The ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmood vowed this while addressing an internal meeting with the comission’s officials. As part of the move, the anti-corruption watchdog will hold view exchange meetings with different governmental agencies engaged in the prevention of environmental pollution, the meeting decides.

The ACC after evaluating the opinions of stakeholders concerned will take more effective action with this regard to prevent corruption. The ACC chairman at the meeting said due to corruption and negligency of a few officials or employees of the anti-environmental pollution agencies, the lives of people, especially in city areas are at serious risks. “Due to this reason, we will expedite our monitoring to hold those accountable, illegally engaged in environment pollution, he said.
