AC (land) accused of misbehaving with FF family

Nur Islam, sacked driver of Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Dinajpur and son of late freedom fighter Ismail Hossain, has alleged he was roughed up and was forced to do the works of a cook, even a sweeper by his boss and his wife. One day when he failed to wash the toilets of the AC (land) because of his illness, he was sacked from this job and was oust from the abandoned quarter he used to live with his family members.

It is learnt, Freedom fighter Ismail Hossain, father of Nur Islam died at M. Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital in Dinajpur on October-23 after writing a note of regret to the local MP and Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad Iqbalur Rahim, requesting him not to pay him a state honour as a Freedom Fighter during his burial.

Nur Islam complained, he was appointed as a driver on ‘no work, no pay’ basis as the driver of AC (Land) Mesbaul Hossain. Later he was working at the same post under AC(Land) Ariful Islam who forced him to do all household chores. One day he was ordered by the wife of Ariful to clean the toilet of the house, but being ill, he told he would do that later which enraged Mrs. Ariful who scolded him off vehemently. Later on when Ariful also rebuked him and ordered him to leave the government quarter within three hours. Due to delay in leaving the quarter, workers from his office ousted him from the quarter. Ismail Hossain, father of Nur Islam also went to meet with the Deputy Commissioner of Dinajpur to apprise him of the incident but the DC also refused to meet him which enraged Ismail and he refused the state honour during his burial.

Lokman Hakim, FF Commander of Dinajpur sadar upazila has protested the incident of sacking Nur Islam from his job and demanded proper action against the responsible person after a thorough investigation of the incident.

Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, former Upazila Chairman demanded exemplary punishment of the responsible persons after investigation. He said, such activities of administration have made the entire nation astonished.  Such an inhuman behaviour is never expected with the freedom fighters who have shed their blood to liberate the country.Mahumdul Alam, Deputy Commissioner of Dinajpur informed, an inquiry committtee headed by Additional Deputy Magistrate Sharif has been formed to investigate into the incident within three day and action will be taken in accordance with the report. He termed the freedom fighters as sons of the sun and said, he would not be able to become the Deputy Commissioner if the FF had not freed the country.
