Barkatullah, father of slain BUET student Abrar Fahad, has demanded to see realisation of all decisions accepted by the authorities of BUET and not to keep those limited in black and white only.
Barkatullah said in an impromptu reaction through a press conference on Saturday night that he was hopeful of the publication of a notice by BUET authorities where five-point demand of agitating students have been accepted but he said, it was unlikely that the authorities of BUET would end their duties by publishing the notice only rather, he wants to see realisation of all decisions taken.
He further mentioned, even earlier BUET authorities took several decisions to stop 'Ragging' at the campus but none of the decisions was realised. “Had those decisions been realised then, I would not have lost my son in such a painful way,” he said.
He added, if all the demands of the agitating students of BUET were accepted only as a plea to pacify the students from their movement, it would then be a treachery with the blood of his son. He said, he does not want to see the authorities of BUET once again accept further demands in black and white like those in the past rather he wants to see realisation of all demands.
He further mentioned, most of such murder cases remained entangled for a long time and the accused came out on bail from the jail during their trial and put pressure, even threat to the family members of the victim to withdraw the cases. He said, he does not want such a situation is created in the case of his son's murder. He demanded to shift the case to Speedy Trail Tribunal and an exemplary punishment of the killers as soon as possible.
