86,438 pilgrims return after Hajj so far

A total of 86,438 pilgrims so far have returned home through 243 flights from Saudi Arabia after performing the holy Hajj, reports BSS. Among the 243 hajj flights, 117 were operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines while 126 were operated by Saudi Arabian Airlines ‘Saudia’, Hajj Office sources confirmed today.

This year, a total of 1, 27,152 pilgrims including members of hajj management went to Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh through 365 flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudia Airlines for performing Hajj. Of them, 112 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims, including 17 women, died in Saudi Arabia, said the Hajj office.

Among the dead, 100 died in Makkah, 11 in Madina and one in Jeddah, thesources added. The return flights of hajj pilgrims started on August 17 and the last return hajj flight is expected to land here on September 15.
