A Kishoreganj court on Thursday convicted seven people and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for killing a farmer in 2005.
First Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Abdur Rahim delivered the verdict. The court also fined them Tk. 3 lakh each.
The lifers are Mangu Miah, Jangu Miah, Manju Miah, Enayet, Kakon Miah, Kajol and Dulu Miah.
According to the case statement, the convicts killed farmer Abbas Ali in his house in Kastul Shekherhati Village in Austagram upazila on July 23, 2005.
Later, the victim's brother-in-law Miru Mia filed a case with Austagram Police Station accusing 11 people.
