A case was filed against six people on allegation of gang-raping a widow in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
The mother of two registered the lawsuit with Arihazar Police Station under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Police have arrested the prime suspect Ali Akbar, son of Basiruddin, resident of Noikahon village of Arihazar upazila.
The other accused are Mostafa, Anawarul, Liton, Shahin and Tariqul.
According to the case details, the victim went to Noikahon Bazaar to but medicine on October 7 at around 7:30 night. At that time, Ali Akbar and his associates took her to an isolated place where they gang-raped her. It stated that the victim delayed to seek legal action due to fear over social honor.
Meanwhile, Arihazar police recovered a body of a girl from Ramchandradi village.
The deceased was identified as Tanjina Akter, 15, a student of local Madrasha. Victim’s family suspected that she might have murdered after being raped.
Officer-In-Charge of Arihazar police station Md Nazrul Islam confirmed the both incidents to Bangladesh Post.
