Bangladesh registered four deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Wednesday. The total number of deaths rose to 28,038 with one addition to the latest figure.
The country recorded 297 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,580,302, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
The current positivity rate stands at 1.05 percent. The overall positivity rate stands at 14.12 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country. Around 28,153 samples were tested across the country till 8am Wednesday.
Of the four deceased, three were male and one was female.
Some 269 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,544,933 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.76 percent.
As of Wednesday, 5,340,450 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 271,874,562 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
