31 DU students get Deans’ Award

A total of 31 students of various departments under the Faculty of Biological Sciences of Dhaka University (DU) have been conferred with the prestigious “Dean’s Award” for their outstanding academic results in Bachelor of Science examinations of session 2017-18, reports BSS.  DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman handed over this prize to the awardees at a function held today at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus.

The Dean’s Award winning students are: Md. Raisuddin Sikder, Akib Al Mahir, Mahfuza Mirza Sadia, Rabeya Miazi (Soil, Water and Environment), Abu Jar Gifary, Lutfunnahar Suchana, Md. Morsalinur Rashid, Fariha Afrin Mustafa, Bini Sen (Botany), Ismat Jahan Anee, Krishna Sukonya Banik, Sawda Zaman Arthy, Anika Tabassum, Gayn Sonkar Paul (Zoology), Mohammad Sayem, Razoan Al Rimon, Umme Sabrina Haque, Md. Rashedul Islam, Saruar Alam (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), Masuda Akhter, Safia Mahabub Sauty, Joynob Akter Puspo, Tanmoy Debnath, Rokaiya Nurani Shatadru (Microbiology), Mst. Sabrina Akter, Lima Akter (Fisheries), Shayan Shahriar, Rafeed Rahman Turjya, Dhruba Jyoti Sen, Drishty Badhon Sarker and Abu Nasim Haider (Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology). Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman congratulated the students and urged them to play an effective role in making DU as the world-class one through advanced level researches and academic activities.

He also called upon the students to prepare themselves as perfect human being with the combination of non-communal, humanitarian values, merit, patriotism and honesty. “The recipients of this award would play effective role to develop socio-economic condition of the country,” the VC hoped.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (academic) Prof. Dr. Nasreen Ahmad and Chairperson of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nazmul Ahsan addressed it with Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. M Imdadul Hoque in the chair.
