During the downpour three housewives of a family were electrocuted at Deobhog Akhra area under Sadar police station in Narayanganj on Thursday noon.
The diseased were Bimola Rani Ghosh, 52, wife of Ranjit Ghosh, Basonti Rani Ghosh, 42, wife of Nikhil Ghosh and Moni Rani Ghosh, 38, wife of Rupok Ghosh. All three were sister-in-laws of each other and they lived in the same house.
The deceased family sources claimed that when the showering was torrential, Bimola Rani Ghosh engaged to sweep the floor and she was touched with a iron gate and then she screamed and then the other two sister -in-law were forwarded touched her to escape but all three went into unconscious condition.
Family members rescued all three housewives and rushed to Narayanganj General Hospital (Victoria) where emergency department doctor Nazmul Hasan declared them dead and added that all three were dead before reaching hospital.
Inspector (investigation) of Narayanganj Sadar police station Sayeeduzzaman said that there were no complaints about the demise, so all three bodies were handed over to the relatives for funeral.
A heart rendering scene is prevailing in the deceased family.
