3-day ETE confce begins at RUET

A three-day international conference on Electrical,and Telecommunication Engineering 2019 (ICECTE 2019) began at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) here on Thursday, reports BSS. 

RUET’s Faculty of the Electrical and Computer Science Engineering (ECSE) is hosting the conference for the third consecutive time aiming to take the technological growth one step forward. The ICECTE 2019 aims at focusing the rapid strides and technological advancements in recent years. It aspires to open a forum for technical excellence and exchange of technology between technocrats, research scholars, and representatives from academia and industry.

The conference will provide ample opportunity to academicians, engineers, professionals, researchers, specialists and students from home and abroad for sharing to curve the engineering challenges leading to sustainable development.

Prof Harunur Rashid from Florida Polytechnic University in USA addressed the inaugural session as chief guest while RUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Rafiqul Islam Sheikh is present as Chief Patron with Convener of the conference Prof Abdur Razzak in the chair. Prof Hiroyuki Okada from Japan’s University of Toyama, Bangladesh Section Chairperson of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Prof Selia Sahnaz, Dean of the faculty Prof Zahurul Islam Sarkar, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Prof Faruk Hossain and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Prof Boshir Uddin also spoke.

In his remarks, Prof Harunur Rashid said engineering and technology play a pivotal role in the development of today’s world. Widespread research and innovative practices are propelling the world to a new plateau of development and Electrical, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering is at the centre of this process, he added. More than 300 academics, scientists and researchers from both home and abroad, including Japan, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, China and India are taking part in the conference. Around 76 research papers are expected to be presented for discussion at the event.
