The number of coronavirus cases is increasing in Chittagong with 242 people being infected in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 23,870.
Experts say the level of infection is increasing as the winter intensifies. Controlling infection is not possible without following hygiene rules and wearing masks.
According to a report released by the Civil Surgeon's Office on Sunday night, 1270 samples were tested in the last 24 hours at Cox's Bazar Medical College Lab and 8 labs in Chittagong. It identified 58 patients with corona in CU lab, 14 in BITID, 59 in CMC lab and 9 in CVASU lab.
In addition, 46 patients were found in the private Imperial Hospital Lab, 50 in the Chevron Clinical Laboratory and 6 in the Chittagong Maternal and Child Hospital Lab. No samples were tested at the General Hospital's Regional TB Referral Laboratory (RTRL).
On the other hand, Cox's Bazar Medical College Lab tested 6 samples from Chittagong and found no corona virus in anyone's body.
